Greetings from the end of February! We're loving the lingering daylight that we've been getting as spring nears, and we are even feeling the air warming a bit - as is the local real estate market! We've had lots of buyers and sellers contacting us this month because they're ready to make moves, and we're here for it. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, let us know - the market will only heat up with the weather, so don't miss out on the opportunities that are available now!
Business Partner Networking
We recently held our first business partner networking happy hour of the year. We invited folks who serve home buyers and sellers in some capacity from a variety of industries including photographers, house cleaners, moving services, home inspectors, lenders, real estate attorneys, and more. These gatherings are always meaningful because all of the local business owners and representatives work to serve the same clients, and it's rare to have someone from each point in the home buying process represented in the same room at the same time. It gives us a chance to meet face to face rather than by phone or email, and we always feel so welcomed by the folks at Sweeten Creek Brewing and Bear's Smokehouse South for these biannual events. At this month's event, we also held a food drive and fundraiser for MANNA FoodBank, and collected 92 pounds of food, and raised $460 from attendees - since MANNA is able to provide 4 meals for every $1 they receive, we raised enough to provide 1,840 meals to our neighbors in Western North Carolina.
Welcome New Fireflies
We've been busy this month onboarding our new team members, Mark and Danielle! Mark has lived in Asheville for more than 20 years and recently transitioned to real estate from a 35-year career as a hair stylist and salon owner. Danielle relocated to Asheville from New Orleans with 10 years' experience as a Realtor. Prior to real estate, Danielle spent 13 years as a transactional paralegal specializing in real estate law. We are thrilled to have them both and excited about the skills and experience that they each bring to the team!
Final Friday Firefly Frolics
One thing that motivates our team members is FUN, and we love to gamify our goals. This year, when our sales agents have held the number of client appointments needed to meet their contract goals by the end of each month, we spend the final Friday of the month doing something fun as a team - we met our February goals, so we joined together at the Asheville Retrocade in West Asheville for an afternoon of gaming and good times.
Gearing Up For Spring
Our next big event is our sponsorship of the Asheville Marathon & Half - this will be our third year sponsoring this event, and we are thrilled to work with the team at iDaph and all of the other fantastic sponsors to put on this amazing race for the local (and visiting!) running community. In April, we'll be visiting our past clients to drop off a spring gift and show our thanks for choosing Firefly. We'll have a Mother's Day Giveaway in May, and we'll be back at the WNC Nature Center in June for one of our favorite client appreciation events.
