Vendor Spotlight: Best Built, Inc.
The Firefly Team learned about Best Built, Inc., through our connection with Mount Soma, a Vedic community in Clyde with arguably some of the best views in all of Western North Carolina. While there are many special things about Mount Soma, one of the notable features of the community is the architecture of the homes. Not only are the homes there beautiful and modern, they are also Green-Built and are in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural landscape. What might not be immediately evident is that the homes are also built using Vastu architecture principles.
Vastu shastra is a traditional Hindu system of architecture which literally translates to "science of architecture." There are texts found on the Indian subcontinent that describe principles of design, layout, measurements, ground preparation, space arrangement, and spatial geometry - all believed to increase the positive energy and therefore quality of life in a home. Vastu architecture is incorporated into each aspect of Mount Soma's development, bringing out the inherent balance of nature to facilitate healthy and harmonious living. Vastu is a time-honored architectural science from the Himalayas and is the predecessor Feng Shui from the Chinese tradition.
Best Built, Inc., has built many homes in the Mount Soma community according to Vastu principles, and in fact, built the Sri Somesvara temple. The firm offers design and building services and incorporates green building techniques with a focus on high quality work and cost effectiveness. One of their main goals is to nurture and develop a positive and productive relationship with their clients.
