Firefly Realty's Guide To Asheville - Kids & Families
Between the 8 parents on the Firefly Realty team, we have 16 kids between the ages of 1 and 15. So this section of our Asheville Guide could go on forever - but we'll try to keep it concise!
One of the most comprehensive resources for family-friendly activities, events, and attractions is the Family Friendly Asheville Facebook Page. Click through and give them a follow to stay up to speed on all things kid-related in the Asheville area. You can also find where to get free or discounted meals for kids on their website.
Like many areas, day cares and summer camps fill up quickly in Asheville. Many summer camps get filled within an hour of registration opening, and lots of parents get on wait lists for daycares the minute they find out they're expecting. The good news is, wait list spots do often yield rewards, and there are a lot of different creative options available.
Many businesses that offer family and kids activities also offer summer camps, afterschool programs, and/or drop-in daycare or parents-night-out programs. Some afterschool programs are held on-site at elementary schools, or transportation is provided to the off-site afterschool location by bus.
