Interested in buying a home? Here are 4 tips from the Firefly team that you should keep in mind during your home search:

1.  Consider the questions. Your buyer’s specialist will ask you a number of questions in the initial consultation and throughout the home search process that might not seem to have anything to do with real estate – Answer these questions honestly and as thoroughly as possible, as these answers can often reveal helpful information that can help your agent find the right match for you.

2.  Know the Market. You may have heard that right now, it’s a ‘seller’s market’ – but what does that mean? In basic terms, it means that when looking at real estate as inventory, there are more buyers than there are homes available – which means buyers are often facing scenarios of multiple offers or finding a home that has just been listed, only to see it go under contract right away.

3.  Trust your agent. Be assured that before your agent sends you information about a home, he or she has already vetted it against your requirements and is confident that it will be worth considering – especially in these market conditions. If your agent thinks it’s worth booking a showing, then it is.

4.  Reevaluate Your Requirements. If you’ve seen a half dozen homes and none of them feel right, think about factors where you might have flexibility – can you get more square footage or more land by considering a different location? Would you be willing to look at lower price points and consider remodeling? Would a higher price point give you better options?
