What a year 2022 has been! We've spent some time in the last month reflecting together as a team and as individuals on the highs and lows, successes and failures, hard things and easy breezy things - and boy, have we done it all! We are on pace to close on nearly 130 homes and just over $52 million in volume in 2022, and nearly $1.5 million in Gross Commission Income (GCI). With some changes in agents and a recent (albeit slight) market cool-down, we are proud of these numbers and cannot wait to start meeting our 2023 goals.
Just before Thanksgiving, we gave away nearly 140 pies to our clients and close friends - it was so great to see so many folks, and we are thankful for each and every one of you who got a pie! This month, we've been collecting donations alongside other agents and teams at our office for several local charities that will help make the holidays brighter for families in need this year. There's still time to contribute to the GoFundMe campaign if you are able!
Katie and Jordan had a wonderful opportunity earlier this month to attend a breakfast event for the Top 100 female agents in Asheville. The keynote speaker was Carly Brown, M.D., founder of Ashewell Medical Group, P.A. She spoke about the weight of the mental load carried by women, and how to lighten it, particularly during this time of year. Katie and Jordan both felt honored to be part of such a special event, and Firefly is proud to have both Katie and Jordan's strong presence as leaders and teammates.
More recently, nearly the whole team participated in a trivia competition against other agents and teams at the Asheville Pizza Company. Firefly's team Navy Jacket tied for first place with a team from our friends at Porch Light Realty, and the final call came down to a battle of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Jordan was victorious in the tiebreaker and Firefly took home the trivia champion title!
As an end-of-year reminder, if you bought or sold property in 2022, you will need a copy of your settlement statement for tax purposes - we've got you covered! We'll be mailing you a copy this month, so keep an eye out for that.
