What’s an E-Bike? An E-Bike is a bicycle with an integrated motor that adds throttle to the bike. Electric bikes pedal and handle just like a regular bicycle. The electric component is meant to augment human power, not completely replace it. It makes obstacles like hills and headwind more manageable and allows you to travel further without getting as tired. These have become more popular in the U.S. in the last decade, and have been spotted around Asheville a lot more in the last few years – understandably so with the hills we have around here!

We always seek to support local businesses whether it's for our closing gifts or event giveaways, and we are so glad we found The Flying Bike in our search for a local electric bike shop. They are located just around the corner from our office in the South Slope neighborhood of downtown Asheville, and they provide electric bike rentals and guided tours of downtown as well as the River Arts District.
