Maybe you're already an avid runner, or perhaps you're interested in getting into running this year - either way, whether you're just starting your running journey or you're ready for an ultra marathon, there's something for all levels of runners and joggers in Asheville and Western NC.
This year, Firefly Realty is thrilled to be a sponsor of the Asheville Marathon & Half on March 19 - this race begins in downtown Asheville and ends at the Wedge at Foundation in the River Arts District - making it a unique downhill racing experience. A few of us Fireflies will be running the half marathon, so let us know if we'll see you there!

Another great thing about running is that you can really get to know your neighborhood - or one where you might want to be. Here are some neighborhoods and areas that are great for running - and you might even picture yourself owning one of the homes on your route. If so, give us a call and we'll help make your home owning daydreams a reality! Give us a call at (828) 771-2339 or book an appointment with one of our agents today!
- Montford: The tree-lined streets just outside of downtown have some gorgeous historic homes - a great distraction from the challenging hills!
- West Asheville: Explore the streets off of Haywood Road or head down to Carrier Park for a break from the hills.
- Fletcher: Bill Moore Community Park has scenic trails, gardens and more if you prefer to get away from running on the streets.
- Beverly Hills: This East Asheville neighborhood near Oakley has golf course views and is within running distance to the WNC Nature Center and Highland Brewery - plus you're not too far from the parkway for those who prefer to hit the trail.
