December 2021 Market Update
Another month gone, and another decrease in supply when it comes to real estate in Asheville, N.C. The infographic below shows December's numbers compared with stats from the same month last year - December 2020 - and below that we'll discuss the numbers compared to November 2021.
In December 2021, the number of listings decreased 36% from November, and the number of homes put under contract decreased 21%.
While days on market statistic increased 15% from last year, that number increased 88% from November, which is significant since that number hovered between 7-8 days each month from September through November 2021. Even with the days on market number increasing, the total number of active listings took a 17% dip from November, and with only 1 month of inventory available, we remain in a seller's market.
The average sales price took a small dip from November (though it still increased 10% from last December) and on average, properties sold for 100% of their listing price at the time the offer was made.
