Halloween Safety Tips
Firefly Realty at Keller Williams ,
Halloween might not look exactly as it did pre-Covid, but there are ways to safely enjoy the holiday. Most local family-friendly events take place outside, and we're sure to see some creativity when it comes to handing out candy.
Trick-or-treaters:
- Stay home if you or your child feels sick, has symptoms of COVID-19 or is at high risk of complications.
- Maintain social distance of at least six feet from other groups.
- Avoid large parties, gatherings and indoor activities.
- Take only wrapped candy or treats.
- Wash your hands when finished trick-or-treating before eating candy.
Treat givers:
- Designate one person per household to hand out candy.
- Wear a face mask when opening the door and make sure the mask completely covers your nose and mouth.
- Put treats in individual bags and lay them out instead of putting them in a large bowl.
- Sit outside behind a table to give out treats.
- Provide hand sanitizer for trick-or-treaters.
- Wash your hands frequently.
BONUS: Need a last-minute costume idea? Buy a white or light grey sweat-suit and a few sharpies. Ask people at each house you visit to sign or draw a picture on your outfit. Ta-dah, you're a graffiti wall!
