January 2022 Market Report
It's time for a look at the January 2022 market report for Buncombe County. There's still 1 month of inventory available, similar to last month - however, that number decreased 43% from January of last year, emphasizing how much things have changed in a year. Another big year-over-year change is that the average sales price increased 19% from a year ago; however it went down a nudge - 6% - from December 2021 to January 2022.
New listings actually increased by 11% from December to January, and homes sold decreased by 23% - of course, a lot of those homes sold went under contract in December, so those numbers aren't much of an indicator of a market shift.
Days on Market is something we continue to keep an eye on, and that decreased 53% from last month, and 42% from last year - with 50% of homes going under contract in 7 days or less.
